My husband and I rafted on the Hiwassee for the first time this past weekend and we enjoyed ourselves. They were extremely busy so the wait times to get shuttled were fairly long, but not horrible. When we did get called to get shuttled, we were stuffed on a flatbed truck with wooden side rails with a bunch of other people and tubes. The sides were very wobbly and the driver was flying and slamming on the breaks in the curves. Everyone was holding on for dear life, but it was fun! Some of the life jackets are pretty sketchy looking and very worn out, but they did their job. Other than that, I would recommend Webb Brothers Float Service. Its affordable, the equipment was in good shape (other than some life jackets), and you are allowed to take your time and enjoy yourself. We left at around noon and were told as long as we were back by 7pm, we were fine.
It's hard to write a review for a service that brings you somewhere that is already naturally beautiful. They provided a raft for party of six and drop this off Upstream for two-and-a-half to three hour tubing trip. We got stuck on the rocks multiple times where I had to get out and pull us off the rocks. Everyone was very friendly that we worked with.
Awesome family trip. The Webb brothers offer a great way to spend a day with the family and they have everything you might need for the trip.All you have to bring is the family.
The staff was super friendly and fun. The rate for a portage to the top was reasonable and the take-out area was nice. There were even staff members down there to help if you needed it. Before we went, I saw one person's review complaining about the truck ride to the drop off. It was perfectly safe and slow. It beat the heck out of being in the back of a deuce-and-a-half and just reminded me of when I was a kid. We will be back for sure.
